Checkers board game /Draughts board game with a winter theme

This is another one from Miniature Masterminds for a checkers (or as it is known in the UK draughts) game board and pieces with a winter theme. The board is coloured squares whilst the pieces have images on them so it is an idea that could be varied by customising the board with something like stickers or using alternative manipulatives for the pieces but would still be a good basic game to have up your sleeve just as is.

Maths Board Game Collection

So all the schools in the UK are now closed for the duration due to Corona Virus and parents everywhere are having to homeschool with the help of extra work from the teachers. Intimidating!
Here is a board game collection from Maths Sphere for practising those maths skills whilst at home. There are about 20 of them to print with instructions all you need to do is add counters and dice. Laminate or put in a poly pocket to make a longer lasting resource.

The maths sphere website also has a free dictionary to help with homework for those of us who went to school quite a few years ago...

In light of having to be self-isolating with kids due to corona virus I am digging out the blog again and pulling together all the posts for these simple games. All you need is a dice, a rules sheet to show which body part you get for the value rolled on the dice, and a pencil and paper for each player (or you can use whiteboards/chalkboards/ sand trays, anything you use to draw). First person to complete their drawing is the winner.
