Homeschooling - The Tempest

Yes here in the middle of lockdown we are attempting to teach our son who is 12 and has SEND how to understand Shakespeare; obviously a fantastic skill for someone who is basically illiterate and innumerate to have for every day life!  However here is a round up of some of the resources we shall be using, I have concentrated on the KS2 (primary school level) rather than the KS3 (secondary school level) resources as it does part of the differentiation to SEND for me.

Primary Shakespeare Company usually tour primary schools but this year are putting their resources online:-
once a fortnight the site has a new "book" about a new character here (specifically for special schools)
This page accesses the main resources.  You need to sign up to access them but they are free

Youtube has a couple of videos on The Tempest.
This is a short animated version

This is a summary from "animated books"

Finally here is a song from BBC Teach which summarises the story

The BBC has a whole page of clips and resources for KS2 here.  Having looked at the resource pack it will is intended for whole classes but could be adapted for use at home.
